Grand Overmantels

A grand overmantel is an architectural feature that is placed above the mantel or fireplace surround. It's essentially an extension upwards from the fireplace and mantel, often reaching to the ceiling or close to it.

While it is often made from the same material as the mantel for a seamless look, it can also be created from contrasting materials for a striking effect.

Modern living room with white sofas, a fireplace with a beige marble mantel, a glass-top coffee table with a vase of white tulips, large window with greenery outside, a black table lamp, and decorative wall paneling.
